Grupo Éxito and its foundation have launched an initiative called ‘Gen Cero’, which aims to have the first Colombian generation with no stunting by 2030. The initiative focuses on 4 strategies: public policy incidence, raising awareness, knowledge generation and resource generation. This forms Fundacion Exito’s comprehensive model for nutrition during the first 1000 days and for children under 5years.
Statement of Commitments
In 2015 Fundacion Exito is committed support its comprehensive model for nutrition by following 4 strategies, which benefits 7.627 pregnant families and 35.529 children under 5 years:
1. Public policy incidence – working with local, regional and national governments in support of policies to improve nutrition
2. Communication and raising public awareness – implementing media and other public advocacy strategies to raise awareness about the importance of good nutrition
3. Resource mobilization/partnerships – working with partners to finance Gen Cero programs in support of the nutrition model
4. Knowledge generation – sharing best practices and models for a multi-stakeholder approach to reduce malnutrition
