Jonathan joined the SBN as Global Coordinator in 2013. He is passionate about supporting small and medium sized businesses and entrepreneurs in developing and emerging markets to scale up their actions and investments in nutrition. Prior to the SBN, Jonathan worked in senior global advocacy roles for Unilever, developed partnerships around water, sanitation and hygiene and advised the Unilever CEO, Paul Polman, in his role as a member of the UN High Level Group on the Post-2015 Agenda. He has also worked on major aid, climate change and tax justice campaigns for Oxfam and ActionAid. Jonathan grew up in Wales and studied at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth before gaining a Masters from the School of Oriental and African Studies.
Ritta supports existing SBN Country Networks in designing strategies and activities to incentivise business to take action on nutrition at national level. This role builds on 10 years of development finance experience working in research and investment advisory roles focused on private sector development, primarily in the infrastructure, energy and agricultural sectors. Underpinning her professional experience is a Masters in Development Finance from the University of Cape Town.
Uduak joins the SBN Global Team in a maternity cover role to support SBN Country Networks design strategies and activities to incentivise business to take action on nutrition at a national level. Prior to joining the Global Team, Uduak led the SBN Nigeria for three years, developing one of our largest and most vibrant networks. Uduak is also studying for a Masters in Sustainable Development in her spare time.
Emily supports the WFP Headquarters team with technical and strategic guidance as it works to scale up SBN across SUN Countries. Before joining the SBN team, Emily served for 4 years as the WFP Nutrition & Social Protection Team Lead in the WFP Zambia Country Office, which included oversight of the Country’s SBN. Her previous experience focused more within the public health space, where she worked for Clinton Health Access Initiative. Emily has Masters degrees in Business Administration and Public Health from the University of Michigan.
Hannah joined the SBN in June 2018 as the Communications Lead. She oversees the communications strategy, ensuring all communications activities facilitate and support the broader objectives of the SBN. This includes raising awareness of the SBN, inspiring business members to join our networks and driving high reach to a new and existing community of supporters. Prior to joining the SBN, Hannah completed an internship focusing on food and nutrition security and climate change at the UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean based in Mexico City. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Italian from University College London (UCL).
