The SUN Business Network (SBN) aims to increase the availability and affordability of safe, nutritious foods to consumers, especially low-income consumers through activities at global and national levels. At a national level, the SBN convenes businesses, assesses technical, financial and other business support service needs for members, and advocates the role of business in addressing nutrition at country level.

LightCastle Partners

The consultancy firm helped develop the first draft of SBN Bangladesh’s strategy, and was responsible for the proper facilitation and organisation of the Nutristar competition.

Golpo Communications

This agency will handle the promotion and marketing for upcoming SBN Bangladesh events and activities. It will also continue to support SBN with digital media content and help visually document and promote SBN’s work.

Stellar Value Partners

This consultancy firm played a key role in organising the Bangladesh Pitch Competition,‘Food Frontiers: Urban Food Systems Innovation Challenge’, by helpingsource applicants, organising boot camp sessions, and moderating both the investor night and grand finale.

SME Foundation

Along with SBN Bangladesh, this organisation has been helping identify areas in which SMEs require assistance, and delivering support. Together, they have been advocating the role that SMEs play in nutritious practices within the food system.

Institute of Nutrition and Food Safety (INFS)

INFS and SBN Bangladesh are working together to build the capacity of SMEs which are engaged in production, marketing and distribution in the food and beverage sector, by developing a nutrition curriculum tailored to the needs of the SBN members.

Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA)

A memorandum of understanding has been developed with BFSA to establish a monitoring cell, through which the food safety aspect of drum oil sold in market can be monitored, along with otherfood safety-related activities as part of the SBN and EATSAFE project.

Nutrition Connect

This GAIN-led initiative was SBN Bangladesh’s strategic partner for the Food Frontiers competition.

National Association of Small and Cottage Industries Bangladesh (NASCIB)

NASCIB is working with SBN Bangladeshto help strengthen the capacity of members operating across the food system. Sub-national committees will also be formed in order to convene, advocate and share knowledge of nutrition among local SBN members.

The Department of Food Technology and Rural Industries, Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU)

BAU provides SBN Bangladesh’s members with technical assistance, whileMeanwhile, SBN will enhancethe capacity of BAU’s Food Safety Management and Food Engineering department by delivering practical guidance to its graduate students.

The World Food Programme (WFP)

WFP has assisted in implementing high priority areas of the SBN Bangladesh strategy, such as establishing sub-national SBN committees, building the capacity of SMEs, connecting SBN members with assistance providers, and engaging the private sector.
